The goal of Family Case Management is to reduce the number of children in foster care by safely moving children in foster care to permanency in a timely manner. Case managers coordinate and provide services such as supervised family interactions that enhance parenting capacities that allow children to return home safely. If the needed changes cannot occur, staff develop and execute concurrent plans for alternative forms of permanency, such as adoption to ensure children do not stay in foster care any longer than necessary. • Plans, supervise and direct the work of the Family Case Managers in the Family Case Management Services unit • Assigns cases and evaluates job performance to coordinate casework activities within the unit. • Actively coordinates assistance provided to children and families. • Directs the child protective services case process using the Family Teaming process of a strength-based family-centered approach. • Responsible for decision-making and case activity that supports appropriate use of out-of-home placements and children's involvement • Performs adoption case management and finalizations to include negotiating adoption assistance subsidies and completing court work • Completion of all necessary paperwork/various database input in a timely manner Show less
