I am a member of the Strategy and Research Policy team at the Max Planck Society. My tasks include supporting the leadership of the Max Planck Society in their strategic decision-making in the Perspektivenrat, the main strategy body of the Max Planck Society. Previous responsibilities include the coordination and preparation of the evaluation of the Max Planck Schools, a network of German universities and non-university research organizations for a new form of graduate education. I supported the Secretariat of the Council of Science and Humanities (Wissenschaftsrat) in its mission by coordinating state-wide evaluations of research organizations, facilitating open dialogue on current issues in research policy and providing background information to scientists and policy makers at federal and state levels. The Wissenschaftsrat is one of the leading science policy advisory bodies in Germany. It advises the Federal Government and the governments of the German Federal States. It produces recommendations on the development of science, research and higher education, thus helping to ensure that German science and humanities remain competitive at national, European and international level.
