I’ve been fortunate to know Miranda for the better part of a decade and worked alongside her for four years as a Regional Board Member of the IAB Southeast Asia (SEA) and India. I was also an active participant in local IAB initiatives before joining the board. Miranda’s impact on the media industry is deep, far and wide. I’m most inspired by her ability to synthesise complexities into clear direction, her power to magnetize, mobilise and motivate people from around the industry, and the bridges she builds between eastern and western ways of digital. Miranda’s empathy-based leadership style produces valuable and actionable results for IAB members and wider industry - whether that’s advocating the unique strengths, diversity and innovation of SEA + India, auditioning and adapting global initiatives for the local region or prioritising local community initiatives such as Restaurant Rescue and pet adoption. In every engagement, Miranda does an exceptional job of putting herself in the shoes of different stakeholders, and shaping the outputs to ensure both individual and collective outcomes are achieved. SEA & India markets and media industries evolve rapidly, and Miranda’s economics background and people-oriented ethic enable her to navigate both the macro and micro dynamics of this exceptionally well. I travelled SEA regularly with Miranda and the regional board to maintain a pulse on the region by engaging with local business and community leaders. Miranda is the conduit for nearly all these engagements, and as a result enable the regional board to uncover pivotal local developments and challenges to informed the IAB’s ongoing regional strategy. These onsite insights facilitated by Miranda were also more valuable and insightful than most regional marketing research, and I believe a key reason for Miranda’s success as CEO. Miranda is a highly inspirational CEO. I’ve highlighted her positive impact and various public initiatives, but this is balanced by many difficult decisions required behind the scenes that maintain a healthy not-for-profit business. Miranda makes and manages tough decisions well. I recall one example from the start of the 2020 - As the pandemic escalated, many aspects of the IAB’s activity became unfeasible or redundant. This meant that IAB’s value to members, the revenue keeping the chapter functional and the many initiatives in progress all required re-consideration. Miranda brought the IAB’s strategy back to first principles, making the difficult decisions on where to cut and where to invest. Suffice to say, though times remained tough, the business was able to pivot effectively and deliver value that achieved incredibly high member satisfaction as a result of her actions. Miranda has expanded my understanding of Southeast Asia, helped me become a better ally and champion of diversity, equity and inclusion, as well as challenged and motivated me to become a better leader and person. And for that, I am incredibly grateful.

Miranda has a passion that is unshakeable for the digital industry and is a charismatic and driven individual who strives for delivery and execution. She is a visionary CEO who has a deep experience in being able to articulate the nuances and differentiation of the Asia region and has the ability to localise accordingly. I have been a board member across 2 different stints and I have had the pleasure to really see Miranda grow deeper into her role and still maintain her commitment to execution, thought leadership whilst maintaining her passion. In my role as Chair of the Board I had the pleasure to see more deeply the extended commitment and dedication across the Global IAB initiatives as well as our markets in South East Asia & India. Miranda leads with passion, vision and drives that in her board.
