Head of AI and Data and Team lead (Lead data scientist)
-
Sep 2021 - Jun 2023
As Team lead (70%): - Creation and management of the AI and Data team from the scratch: hiring 5 Data Scientists, Analysts and Data Engineers, defining both the team internal working dynamics based on Agile methods (first Kanban, now Scrum) and the interactions with other teams within the platform team. - The AI and Data team developed 7 new AI services, using CV, Recommender models and heuristics. 5 of them have been deployed in Production. - As an IC (Individual Contributor), developing small POCs based on AI/ML techniques (for example, using ChatGPT's API to automatically generate customised tests), and creating the tools to deploy ML services into production. - Enrolled and passed a 6 months internal leadership program. As Head of AI and Data (30%): - Defining with the board the AI/ML strategy of the company, aligned to the internal stakeholders. - Defining and leading the new insights layer of the company, combining Data lakes and Data warehouses. This was a combined effort between different teams (AI and Data, DevOps and BizOps) defined and led by me. Show less

The goal of the thesis was to endow a Baxter robot with the capacity to perform a task adapting its actions to its environment. We developed a method combining a probabilistic framework (Bayesian networks) with dynamical systems to generate the adapted actions. Masters Thesis Project
-
Mar 2014 - Sep 2014
The main objective of the project was the gathering of information about the objects within the environment of a robot, which can serve as input of a predictive model (as a neural network, Bayesian network, etc). Therefore, an agnostic exploration of the environment was executed, using the intrinsic motivations of the robot. The exploration was driven by the search of novel positions of these objects, using Lehman and Stanley's Novelty Search. The experiment was performed by a simulated PR2 robot, and also tested in the real robot. This work was a bridge between developmental robotics and evolutionary robotics, performed at the ISIR (Institut des Systèmes Intelligents et de Robotique), Université Pierre et Marie Currie, Paris 6. The output of this work has been used as the foundation of the my current PhD. Show less

Technical coordinator / Researcher
-
Jan 2012 - Sep 2013
On the one hand, my role was related to the definition of the functionalities of a research project. Namely describing the future needs a final user may have in an environment, as a supermarket or a smart city. On the other hand, as part of the technical coordination my duties were related to the definition of the technical aspects of a project (analysis, design, architecture, technical guidance, etc.), representing the project in meetings and making related presentations. Also participating in proposal preparations, leading/helping with the ATOS' inputs. I have been involved in several European projects:- Future Internet (FI-PPP) program, willing to define a toolbox of software modules easy-to-integrate and deploy by SMEs in their developments:-> FIspace - Use Case willing to develop a B2B platform (Phase 2 of the FI-PPP)-> SmartAgriFood - Use Case based on the agrifood sector (Phase 1 of the FI-PPP)-> Member of the FI-PPP's Architecture Board, in charge of leading the program from a technical point of view- CoCities - SmartCities project providing transport related services into different citiesOn the other hand I am involved in several proposals, leading/helping with the ATOS' inputs.
