Merrick is an unbelievable asset to an team or project. I've never met a person or developer with such a breadth and depth of knowledge. He can conceptualize and deliver beyond most anything you would ask. And he'll probably see how you could've asked for something better, ask you if you want that, then make it with style and proficiency. On top of that, he is a hilarious and empathetic addition to any crew. I'm so grateful to have worked with him and much more so to call him my friend.

I consider working with Merrick to be one of the highlights of my career. There is no one I consider to have the same amount of care and passion about the art of software development as him. However, what truly stands out about Merrick is the even greater amount of care that he has for the people he works with. When my family was in crisis Merrick was one of the first people on the phone asking how he could help. I would be more than happy to speak at any hour to how highly in regard I hold Merrick.

This included technology selection, evangelization & mentoring as well as setting up build tools, continuous integration & and testing frameworks. As the engineering team grew from a handful of us to nearly two hundred in the course of a few years I helped with onboarding, adopting technology in a rapidly evolving ecosystem, and participated in product ideation & implementation. After contributing to our native iOS offering, Domo's rapid customer growth demanded a highly focused and performant responsive mobile web option. I headed up this project with many responsibilities including laying down build tools, continuous integration and implementing focused and fast mobile specific versions of key Domo features. As well as grew and mentored a highly efficient team of engineers working closely with product managers and user experience designers. Throughout my time at Domo I've spent time recruiting & interviewing potential hires. Implementing fun side projects involving industrial sized train horns, whistles, drones and more lights and disco balls than you'd find at a Skrillex concert. I also started & and ran team building events that continue in Domo's engineering department such as quarterly hack nights. Recognition - Internet of Things Hack Night Best Overall - Engineer of the Arbitrary Time Period* - The employee of the Arbitrary Time Period* * Typically about 2-3 quarters, ~850 employees at time of recognition.

Started at Domo early in the company's formation. I was part of a small team of engineers working directly with the CEO that launched the Domo brand building their marketing site & press release pages. The technical foundation for this project powered Domo's marketing presence for several years following. Moving into the product I implemented and influenced early prototypes used to raise early rounds of funding ($33 million) & validate product vision.
