  I worked on 3 major projects, firstly I worked as part of a team, running the database updates and queries and developing the database, which contained the details of 7 million customers for a large telephone banking company. The next big project which I was solely responsible for involved updating, developing, downsizing and developing SQL reports and adhoc customer queries on the marketing database for a major transportation company. Finally I worked on similar database updates for one of the big blue chip IT companies. This involved a move from the UNIX/Oracle environment to AIX/DB2 environment. Acxiom in general creates generic, flexible solutions using Perl and in-house software in a UNIX environment that converts data to our internal standard and cleanses/links derived new items which are then stored on an Oracle RDBMS.
