PhD student in Prof. Nick Gilbert's lab at the Institute of Genetics and Molecular Medicine (IGMM). My research focuses on dissecting the mechanisms of higher-order chromatin folding. In particular, I am applying biophysical and molecular methods to understand the role of DNA sequence and nucleosome binding affinity on chromatin folding. Trained in Dr. Namik Kaya’s Neurogenetics lab which focused on finding novel mutations causing neurodevelopmental disorders, especially those within the autism-spectrum, as well as detecting chromosomal abnormalities and copy number variations (CNVs) in the Saudi population. Worked on a cytogenetic analysis project, reporting a case of a novel deletion in chr7q33-q34 in a patient presenting with heart disease.
