Site Construction Manager

Responsible for site safety, site orientation briefing and weekly all hands safety meetings. I coordinate with land owners, provided oversight for onsite electrical, substation, transmission line, turbine erection and civil contractors. I coordinated daily & monthly progress reports, field inspections on all construction activities associated with wind farm construction that include but are not limited to safety procedures, trench work, termination work, LOTO procedures, initial energization procedures, equipment offloading/inspection, foundation backfill, rebar installation, contractor documentation requirements, project scope document review, project drawing review and final acceptance walk-down. I communicate throughout the day with all contractors and personnel onsite as well as with my management and engineering teams off site.

Construction Observer

Responsible for observing daily construction activities which include but are not limited to; job site safety, drawing review, hydro excavation, trenching, concrete pours, conduit installation, steel structure installation, crane work, grounding installation, breaker & switch installation, control building installation, electrical terminations, LOTO procedures, material deliveries, equipment deliveries etc. I’m also responsible for reporting all job site activities on a daily basis, inventory management, maintaining an open issues log and coordination with project engineers and management on all open issues, maintaining a set of redline prints, and requests for material as needed. At project completion I perform a walk through, create and maintain any punchlist items, collect project close out documentation and coordinate with project management about commissioning/energization activities.

Responsible for the electrical QA/QC during the construction phase of wind farm power plants as well as various other site management tasks. Duties included but where not limited to land owner coordination, substation contractor oversight, transmission line contractor oversight & collection system contractor oversite, daily progress reports, field inspections on various construction activities such as trenching work, electrical termination work, LOTO procedures, initial energization procedures, equipment offloading/inspection, contractor documentation requirements, project scope document review and project drawing review.

My responsibilities include but are not limited to; counter sales, inside sales, outside sales, quarterly inventory, order review, team coordination, branch safety, accident reporting, material purchasing, hiring branch employees, training employees, bidding projects, coordination of timely order & delivery to the job site, as well as a number of other routine tasks. I regularly used programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook and AS400 to perform these and many other daily tasks. While a branch manager at Platt I’ve more than doubled the number of active customers and have raised our profit margins as well.
