Aycan is a very experienced developer I've had the pleasure of directly working with over the past 2 years. He comes with years of experience building high quality products and leading teams. I greatly value his opinion as a software developer, and regularly consult him whether it's dealing with legacy code or new product development. His experience and attitude towards software development is his biggest strength. Like other members of the team, he's hungry to grow, learn newer technologies and better ways of solving problems. The fact that Aycan was hired as a Haskell developer to help us manage some existing legacy services, and instead in a short amount of time he learned Typescript and familiarized himself with serverless architecture, AWS CDK and re-wrote the legacy services with a cloud-native approach, is a testament to his drive to continue improving as a software developer and producing high quality software. It's been a pleasure having Aycan on the team, and I look forward to creating more quality software together.

I've worked side-by-side with [[Aycan Irican]] for more than two years at [[Picus Security]]. He is full of knowledge on both CS fundamentals and cutting-edge developments, and also a great mentor; working with Aycan has had one of the biggest impacts on my software development career. He cares about and actively encourages the personal growth of his team members and himself, and is very supportive in every case. We had to make many technical decisions while working together and I now notice that one of the identifying abilities of Aycan is being able to suggest unconventional solutions that end up working out much better than the alternatives in the end. I believe this was the reason we were able to develop and continuously improve a sophisticated software product with our then small team; which successfully served the needs of our of customers and played a huge part on making Picus Security the almost hundred-person business it currently is (as of January 2020). Besides his technical abilities; he is a good person and a friend. He made the two years I was working with him both fun and rewarding, and I have no doubt everyone who did and will work with him will tell the same.

I'm a long time Haskell programmer and VP of Engineering at Picus Security. My primary intention is to minimise the gap between academia and industry. I like to work with highly talented people, read academic papers, learn new ideas, methods and using them in new products to create better solutions. I am currently interested in type theory and correspondent fields. This is my second time in a startup. My first startup was Kor which we developed a web application framework in common-lisp named "core-server" to make web development easier by utilising CL macros and MOP.In Picus Security, we're developing an innovative solution to assess IT security controls by continuously assessing security controls in production environment, making real attacks between network segments and report significant results. This is a different product compared to my first startup since lot's of network programming, analysis and testing needed in order to deliver a reliable product to our customers.
