Mike Jones-Kelley

Start with this: Mike Davis is a fine man. He is a warm, thoughtful and decent guy. He is also the sort of dedicated worker and thinker who will apply all his energies and talents to any and all assignments. Only when he has satisfied himself that his work is the best will he pass it on to his superiors for their comments. (He does, by the way, take criticism with the equanimity that only one who is sure of his talent and his ability can.) Mike must surely have his down moments, but I can truthfully say that I never once saw one. He was always cheerful, polite, ready to laugh and joke, relaxed and eager. Mike is not just a creative talent worth knowing. He is also a human being worth knowing.

During my time at Leo Burnett I earned my way from junior to mid-level, and eventually senior copywriter. Work for ACDelco, Certified Service, Buick, GM Fleet & Commercial, and other clients crossed a wide array of platforms including print, radio, digital, and broadcast. In addition, I was extremely fortunate to be part of teams that created award-winning solutions for Detroit Public Schools and the Troy Library. Working with Campbell-Ewald’s Chevrolet retail group offered eye-opening exposure to the industry. My initial responsibilities centered on altering existing retail work. With persistence I broke into the regional team and began creating original broadcast and print work for the Chicago and Texas marketing groups.
