Het Claus Event Center aansturen is een uitdagende, ingewikkelde en complexe baan. Dat Roy deze functie reeds jaren bekleedt zegt in mijn ogen zeer veel over zijn brede kennis en ervaring, capaciteiten en bovenal zijn zeer aangename persoonlijkheid. Ik heb Roy leren kennen als een manager die ten alle tijden denkt vanuit de wens en verwachting van de opdrachtgever. Gastvrijheid en oog voor detail staan hierbij hoog in het vaandel. Als GM weet Roy een creatief, ambitieus, hardwerkend en gedreven MT team samen te stellen waaraan hij gepassioneerd leiding geeft. De manier van communiceren is duidelijk, open en eerlijk. Naast het feit dat Roy een plezante gastheer is, heeft hij een goed cijfermatig inzicht en kan hij deze cijfers vertalen naar de praktijk en operatie.       Claus Event Center has three restaurants, a bowling center with 20 bowling alleys, 4 bars and a capacity for events, for both the business and private market, from 40 to 2500 people and Dad's Beach House a location for events for up to 200 people with many outdoor opportunities. In this position I have been ultimately responsible for the financial, operational and commercial area for the entire Event Center and Papa's Beach House. Consisting of the departments restaurants (3), events, kitchen, technical service (facility service), interior, sales and marketing, bowling and reception (total 58 FTE). Execution and organization of events from 40 to 2500 persons. Weekly consultation with the management/owners about the policy to be pursued in the financial, commercial and operational areas; devising and (having) implementing new concepts, policy and strategy. Chairing various forms of consultation, including MT consultation. Coordinating the activities between all operational and support departments and supervising, developing and motivating the management team of Claus Park Collection. Drawing up and realisation of the monthly and annual budgets, pursuing a policy aimed at creating more profit by achieving more turnover and/or lower costs. Analyzing (and taking full final responsibility for) all financial data. Initiating recruitment actions with regard to personnel, supervising selection procedures, monitoring timetables and staffing of the various departments.       NH-Hotel de Leeuwenhorst has 502 hotel rooms, 104 banquet meeting rooms, restaurant capacity of 1200 persons (both al la carte and buffet), 3 bars and the possibility to organize events for up to 1500 persons. In this function I was responsible for the restaurants (4) bars (4), kitchen, facility service, housekeeping, swimming pool and fitness and the entire banquet- and events department. In total there are 75 FTEs working in the entire operational department. Activities: Managing and organizing the entire department; drawing up the monthly and annual budgets; chairing various meetings, holding various forms of discussions with staff; consulting with the management of NH; setting up and implementing new F&B concepts; sales and marketing activities; member of various working groups within NH; member (and later chairman) of the management team NH Leeuwenhorst. Responsible for all financial reporting of the entire operation. For the last 1.5 years I have been appointed Operational Director, here I have chaired, among other things, a project group that has realized a large-scale renovation within the hotel.
