Ralf is senior information architect at Zuyd University. He has the ability to address his work on a detailed level as well as on a conceptual level. Therefore he has been able to lead the User & Identity Management project to the required results. But even more importantly, Ralf is a true architect in making the information in the university (and the relevant systems and processes) to a coherent and sound construction, in what we call the Learning Gateway Zuyd. Ralf is asked more and more frequently by other universities to explain how he translates architecture into action.

Ralf is a hard worker. You can rely on him. He is a perfect information and business analyst. Ralf made very good analyses of our organisation (a university with 13,000 students and about 1,500 coworkers!). He is familiar with Prince2 project procedures and methods. As his experience grows, it will become easier for him to sense what level of detail is adequate in what circumstances.

In September 2009 the ICT- and Facility/Real estate-department were merged into Facilitair Bedrijfs Hogeschool Zuyd. Since April the first my role as senior information architect has formally evolved to the role of Information Manager. In this role I’m responsible for ICT-strategy, advising the business on a strategic/tactical level, trend watching and architecture. The focus areas of the Information Manager are:- The effective and efficient utilization of information as a resource;- The systematical development of the application landscape within the boundaries of the ICT-architecture and ICT-policies.As from september 2014 I am doing these things for the domain 'onderwijslogistiek'. I am also implementing BiSL in that domain.

Identity Management:From december 2005 till juni 2007 I managed the project that implemented a identitymanagement solution for our students. Automatical and event-driven accountprovising for our students is a fact since juni 2007. Between juni 2007 and januari 2009 we further improved our identity management solution. We also realized that the financial department is now able to disable/enanble the IT-accounts of the students which are behind with their payments, without any action of the IT-department.In 2009 we made a prototype connection with QMP. We realized SMS-notification for some events. Last but not least, we started with the preparations for provisioning the employees.Information Architecture:Maintainting and expanding the architectual products. In 2008 we left the IAF-framework and switched to DYA. In that year we also embraced Archmated as our corporate architectual language.

During 2003 -2005 I managed / participated in two projects: - The first project was writing an strategic information plan and implementing the basics of architectural thinking; - In the second project I was vice-project manager and participant. The goal of the project was to implementate a new enterprise wide student information system (OSIRIS) and to migrate the data from the old systems (Volg+ and ProGRESS) to OSIRIS.
