Involved in every facet of the network infrastructure from the Cisco routers and switches to the Palo Alto NGFW’s. I also monitor and maintain patching for the Windows 2012 Active Directory domain. Backups through VEEAM v11 also fall into my purview to monitor and maintain. Using MECM (Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager) 2211, I developed and deployed application packages to teams of users based on need. I also worked the ticketing queue through SupportBee. • Upgraded the SCCM installation to MECM 2211 and made sure it could still connect to the SQL DB and the clients were still talking to the console. • Configured the router and switches for a move of the Seattle Bank core network (including the VM infrastructure) from the Seattle location to a leased space in Tacoma. Successfully orchestrated that move and configured OSPF routing across MPLS circuits so all three sites could communicate, and all traffic was optimized for efficient communication. • Configured Cisco 9300 switch stack and moved our network from the One Union location to the current location at Rainier Square in downtown Seattle. • Updated the IOS for Cisco and Juniper switch stacks. • Ran Nessus scans on the entire network to find and fix vulnerabilities. • Using Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager 2211, I created and deployed several application packages. • Managed Group Policy Objects. • Managed the Palo Alto PS-450 and PA-850 NGFW’s to include the upgrade of the PAN-OS from v8.1 to v10.2.2. Also managed URL blocking and security policies that block or allow traffic. • Secured the User-ID server monitoring and Group Mapping in Palo Alto by moving from WMI to WinRM over HTTPS on all the Domain Controllers. • Upgraded our CA environment from SHA-1 to SHA256 and ensured certificate renewals were happening properly with the new hashing algorithm. • Built new Server 2019 database and application servers in VMware and managed security updates and operating system patches the servers. Network Engineer, Private Lab Networking, Microsoft Campus Job responsibilities include upgrading, decommissioning, and managing Layer 2 and Layer 3 infrastructure devices to include Cisco and Arista switching and routing. After the team SysAdmin left, I also assumed the responsibilities of performing Manual Patching for all Windows and Linux servers in our sphere of influence, Active Directory Move/Add/Change tasks, Group Policy Management, and Azure Backup management. • Remotely deployed a Layer-3 hand-off for a customer in Estonia and configured three HP Aruba switches as part of a RDNSNet deployment. • Created new Vlan’s on switches and configured with IPv4/IPv6 network addresses. • Configured Point-to-Point network connections with both IPv4 and Ipv6 addressing. • Configured IP Helpers for existing Vlan’s as well as newly created and configured Vlan’s. • Decommissioned end of life devices and reclaimed existing IP space as well as cleaned uplinks and BGP configurations from upstream devices. • Deployed new layer 2 and layer 3 Arista and Cisco switches in response to new customer deployments and existing break/fix needs. • Recovered failed switches through re-applying config or recovering from ABOOT prompt in Arista. • Built base configurations for Cisco and Arista devices from existing backup configs and applied for new deployments or break/fix. • Upgraded several Hyper-V Virtual DHCP servers from Server 2012 and Server 2016 to Server 2019. • Tracked resources for customers through several layers of Vlan’s and Port-Channels for troubleshooting purposes. • Stepped in and covered for my team Manager when he went on vacation for 3 ½ weeks. When he returned, I continued in a backup role attending meetings and ensuring team continuity. • Handled all manual patching responsibilities for Windows and Linux servers in our environment. • Built new Port-Channels to accommodate increased needs for traffic throughput. Focused primarily on the technical and problem-solving skills associated with PC and network management and cyber-security implementation while adding hands-on experience building computer and network systems. Additional skills included administration, configuration, and security for Cisco, Linux, and Microsoft products. This program also included ethical hacking and prevention, assessing the security needs of computer networking systems, and developing safeguard solutions for computer and information-system infrastructures and countermeasures. • Spent 6 weeks self-studying Palo Alto Firewalls PAN-OS 8.1 after being chosen by my instructors to participate in the 2020 Pacific Rim Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition. • Installed Palo Alto PA-220 in my instructor’s classroom to isolate his classroom from the campus network. • Created and managed Active Directory Domains including creating OU’s and users, adding roles, and deploying group policies. • Configured Cisco switches and routers for trunking, VLAN’s, NAT, ACL’s, and routing using OSPF in physical and virtual networks. • Studied basic PowerShell scripting and developed basic scripts to learn their syntax and function. • Using Virtual Box and Hyper-V to install and configure virtual network environments using both Windows Server and Linux operating systems. • Install and configure a high-availability file server environment using Windows Server 2016, iSCSI, and a failover cluster. • Install and configure functional Windows Server Update Services and Windows Deployment Services in a virtualized Hyper-V environment. • Install a production environment using LAMP server, Trixbox VOIP server, Zimbra email server, XigmaNAS storage server, and a backup server using Ubuntu 18.04 and GRSync. Secured with an Untangled router/firewall server • Configured Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) and Dynamic Naming System (DNS) • Studied cloud-based services and how to utilize them for corporate productivity and security Show less
