Michael Florence served as Sales Manager – Australia & New Zealand for two multinational companies that I also served with as Managing Director of Asia, Pacific and Latin America. In 2000, Microtest, Inc., the world’s leading manufacturer of Network Cabling Certification and Diagnostic equipment as well as scalable NAS solutions was participating in Networld + Interop in Sydney, Australia. Michael was assisting in the Microtest booth on behalf of his employer who at the time was a Microtest distributor for NAS products. When the booth became packed with prospective customers for Network Cabling equipment, Michael jumped in and started demonstrating and explaining the technology although it was not from his industry. It greatly impressed me how quickly he grasped the high technology products of Microtest. This lead to Michael joining Microtest later that year. Microtest was purchased in late 2001 by our primary competitor Fluke Networks. I moved then to IDEAL Industries to build an international business and when we were ready to expand into Australia in April 2003 we were fortunate that Michael accepted the new assignment with IDEAL. Michael immediately took charge of the region under his responsibility and quickly expanded distribution for a much greater product offering than what he had to manage at Microtest. IDEAL Industries is a global leader in designing, manufacturing and selling high quality innovative test equipment, tools and supplies to electrical, communications, and aerospace industries. During Michael’s nearly 7 years with IDEAL he managed the business well having increased revenue over 100% in the first couple of years. He restructured the pricing model for the Pacific Basin and developed marketing programs that were very effective. As a member of the International Team of IDEAL he participated yearly at the CommunicAsia trade exhibition in Singapore and was well received by cross-cultural customers from multiple countries. Michael also traveled to the United States each year of his employment to participate in the IDEAL National Sales meeting in Scottsdale, Arizona, as well for presentations and training in Sycamore, Illinois and San Diego, California. He is more than a team player, he is a team leader. Most certainly he was highly regarded throughout the company. Michael would be a great addition to any company that needs a seasoned manager that knows how to get results. I highly endorse his candidacy. I would welcome any inquiries regarding Michael’s credentials via telephone to 001-480-759-5380 or via email to randevoort@cox.net Sincerely, Robert J. Vandevoort Phoenix, Arizona USA
