Trade Finance Manager
-
Aug 2018 - Jan 2020
I managed and oversaw the progress of trade finance products, attending client meetings as the product expert, and training front end staff to be able to market the full product suite effectively. I helped to grow the FI trade finance business by over 700% year on year, doubling the corporate asset book as well as margin income through selective product marketing and development. I successfully designed, implemented and updated over 20 trade finance products (lending, refinancing and documentary collections related), building robust risk and product frameworks. I designed and introduced the first trade finance blockchain technology within the bank (Forfeiting), with a view to implementing further distributor ledger technology by the end of 2019 (Factoring). I also helped to build a primary and secondary loans and distribution team, on a funded and unfunded basis. I was an active member of the innovations committee hosted by the CEO, and played an integral role in the Strategy Team that was built to develop CCB London's short, medium and long term strategy.

National Development Manager for The Ministry Experience Scheme
-
Aug 2017 - Jul 2018
The Church of England Ministry Experience Scheme gives young adults (aged 18 to 30) a year-long opportunity to explore what God is calling them to. The schemes are based throughout England & Europe & offer young adults the opportunity to experience life in a Church/Parish setting, exploring ministry, whilst gaining valuable life skills that prepare them for their next steps. I built & implemented a 5 year strategy & marketing plan, focusing on: 1. Encouraging more young people from all backgrounds to take part in the year long placements. We grew the number of young people from Black, Asian & Minority Ethnic (BAME) backgrounds from 3% in 2017/18 to almost 15% in 2018/19. This was achieved through targeted advertising on social networks, tailored flyers & advertising in religious magazines & staff training on diversity. Currently around 3.8% of all clergy are of BAME heritage - The Ministry Experience Scheme will help to raise that number dramatically (93% of all participants that choose to go on to a life in ministry are accepted at the Bishops Advisory Panel vs a national average of 87%). 2. Trained new & existing schemes to become financially sustainable, with a focus on applying for local and national grants. 3. Built & designed best practice guidlines for all new & existing schemes to follow. 4. Grew the number of diocesan schemes participating from 21 (of 45 locations) in 2017/18 to over 30 in 2018/9, with commitment from an additional 10 schemes to open by 2021/22. 5. Completed a full rebrand of The Ministry Experience Scheme (formally CEMES) - with booklets, brochures, leaflets, logos & web pages all updated to represent the opportunities on offer. This rebrand, coupled with targeted advertising led to over 300 expressions of interest to the schemes within the first 6 months of the rebrand, 10 times more than received in any previous year. Over 130 young adults will take part in 2018/19 vs 61 the previous year. This is phenomenal growth & a huge success.

Business Planning Manager to Regional Head of TB Europe (Secondment)
-
Jun 2015 - May 2016
I was offered this 1 year assignment as a result of being put on the high performance (HiPo) programme. This was a great opportunity to gain exposure to senior stakeholders within the bank, working direct with the European Regional Head of Transaction Banking.I acted as the conduit between the Regional Head of Transaction Banking, his direct reports and all other department heads, providing detailed analysis of the business, responding to senior management queries on behalf of the Regional Head and ensuring the Regional Head was fully prepared for any meetings attended. I designed and implemented bespoke asset, contingent and liabilities trackers, helping senior management to understand TB Europe's trade and cash positions (in readiness for bi-weekly management calls). I built monthly MI and business review packs showing a full breakdown of segment (International Corporates, Investors, Intermediaries and Banks) pipeline, revenues and initiatives. Additionally I dealt with all HR, conduct and cost related queries, supporting the recruitment process for new hires, international graduates (IG's) and interns. This role helped me to become more adaptable, to work to very tough deadlines, and to learn how to get the best out of those around me. I gained a much better understanding of how a front end department is run, which in turn has prepared me for a role in management.
