I've contributed to many parts of the business across many different tech stacks. I mainly develop on our REST API (Django, DRF) to support a large catalog of internal and external products. I played a large role in moving our main e-commerce store (Flask, React) to use our new REST API, facilitating our migration from physical hardware to Google Cloud. I helped re-architect our legacy ingestion pipeline to bring it up to current standards and give it a modern infrastructure (Docker, K8s, Helm) with tooling in Google Cloud (GCS, Google Pub/Sub, Google Datastore). I acted as the sole technical owner of a project to reduce electricity costs for commercial HVAC systems. By collecting data and creating linear models for the system in numpy, I was able to determine coefficients for efficient valve configuration. I used pandas, numpy, and matplotlib to analyze trend data and evaluate the models for accuracy. In some cases, the models reduced building electricity costs by 30-40%. I was challenged on a daily basis to communicate technical topics in mathematics and statistics to a diverse student body. I engaged my students through the creation of new and appealing course content and assignments for biweekly lectures. I maintained good organization and time management to quickly grade student assignments and shorten the assignment feedback loop to facilitate my students' understanding. According to one of my students on RateMyProfessors.com: "He makes you understand math. I'm pretty weak at math but after taking this course, I can see the huge difference." Show less

    • Freelance Python Developer
      • Sep 2016 - Sep 2017

I have experience with many third-party Python libraries including NumPy, Pandas, matplotlib, Scrapy, Flask, scikit-learn, IPython, pymongo, and much of the Python Standard Library. In a recent project, I built an API for pulling data on federal financial institutions from the FFIEC SOAP servers. Previously, I rewrote and optimized an XML-parsing / CSV-creating script with a 70% decrease in run-time and built a web app interface in Flask that is hosted on Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud. I've also implemented some advanced machine learning algorithms in Python, for example, a neural network used to classify images with 98% success. Each of these projects can be accessed on my GitHub: http://github.com/rarredon. Show less

I designed algorithms to compute technical mathematical properties of graphs with applications in the study of DNA recombination. I implemented these algorithms in Python, JavaScript and C, and used the generated output from these programs to formulate conjectures about the mathematical properties. While some of these conjectures remain open, I was able to prove several of them using advanced mathematical logic. I have documented most of this work in my Master's thesis. I also gave talks at several conferences and I met regularly with fellow researchers at USF to collaborate and discuss current progress. Show less

I created tools (in VBA and Python) to collect data from company processes and automate the creation of charts to detect anomalies and/or signs of an unstable process. I developed software to conduct internal audits on time-sheet reporting for 500+ employees. I served as resource to engineers by assisting with advanced mathematical equations and methods.
