Sunnyvale, CA I successfully introduced the concepts and advantages of using stochastic streaming algorithms (a.k.a. Sketches) into the ADP organization by developing these algorithms and supporting software into robust, production-grade, well-documented software libraries. These libraries have been very well received and are currently being deployed in numerous production analytic applications within Yahoo. This has resulted in enabling certain kinds of queries of big data that would have been impractical using traditional methods. Where sketch technology has been implemented to replace older, brute-force techniques, the results have typically been more than an order-of-magnitude reduction in latency, compute time and storage.

Sunnyvale, CA DataSketches.apache.org is an Open Source Library dedicated to the development of an industry-wide community focused on production-grade, Stochastic Streaming Algorithms. This library has been well received by numerous companies that analyze Big Data. The scientific research that formed the mathematical foundations for this library has led to breakthrough papers recently published and or accepted by ICDT-2016, ACM-PODS-2016, and IEEE-FOCS-2016.

Collaborative research with Dr Dennis Shasha, NYU: Advanced work in the area of analysis of massive data streams (time series) using adaptive combinations of technologies such as FFT, DWT, SVD, and random projection sketches, which together can provide near real-time analysis of many thousands of streams. Successfully implemented these algorithms in Java.

Invented the Dynamic Netvalue Analyzer (DNA) set of products and developed of the suite of technologies that form the core of DNA. These key statistical algorithms enable the real-time analysis and modeling of Internet usage data for finance and marketing as well as for network operations. Successfully led the development team through all phases of development and through first customer deployments. I have received one issued patent and have over a dozen patent applications currently under review by the PTO related to this work. I also provided key marketing materials and presentations for selling into key accounts.

We developed the business plans, performed financial analysis, and contributed to key licensing terms and conditions for these large, complex licensing agreements. Our team proposed the HP/Intel technology alliance to HP CEO Lew Platt, which later became known as the Intel Architecture 64 (IA64) project.
