Significant industry expertise combined with the highest levels of integrity, passion to do the right thing and a real client focus is what comes to mind when I think about Paul. I had the pleasure of working with Paul for almost 2 years at Brooks Macdonald where he drove significant, meaningful business improvements. As a divisional leader, Paul earns my highest recommendation.

I worked with Paul for a number of years, initially as my line manager and then later as a senior stakeholder. I found Paul to always be approachable, pragmatic, knowledgeable and moreover a great mentor. He has vast technical and operational knowledge which is of course important, but for me it was his ability to give good advice and guide me through to a logical conclusion that impressed me most; always with a good sense of humour. Definitely leadership qualities I admire.

Head of Investment Operations Services

Dec 2020 - Jul 2021
Working with the Group COO, executed the strategic decision to partner with SS&C and 'lift out' the core operations function (to SS&C from BM). This involved managing people, process and technology issues both decisively and sensitively in order to ensure that the outcomes of the strategic partnership were achieved for all stakeholders. This programme necessitated the creation of two new teams within BM - an Oversight & TPA Services team and a Client Service & Platform Support team - and, post 'lift out', I was responsible for these as well as dealing services, funds oversight and MPS administration support.

Head of Investment Services

Jul 2018 - Dec 2020
Reporting to the Group COO and working with senior stakeholders right across the business I transformed a traditional, transaction focused operations team into a client, outcome and results focused investment services function. As well as core operational responsibilities the function had first line responsibility for CASS/ regulatory reporting and centralised investment management administration, client service activity (e.g. onboarding; client reporting; report writing) which was previously carried out across the investment management teams. In addition to developing KPIs/ KRIs and improving efficiency and performance, significant direct cost savings were made as a result of reviewing and managing service provider relationships across the Group more effectively.
