Disability Support Worker

2009 - 2012
Working through Interchange Outer East, I provided care to individuals and families on an ongoing basis. Depending on the client, I was involved in both personal care: showering, changing, feeding clients and administering medications, as well as family respite. The clients I worked with represented a range of disabilities, however most commonly I worked with autistic clients, and as such I received specialized training in conjunction with Autism Australia. My other training included certificates in First Aid, Anaphylaxis, CPR, Manual Handling and Administration of Medications.I was also asked to facilitate a small group of clients in the implementation of an Advocacy Group within the company.
