Delivery Project Engineer, Collins Class Submarines, ASC Pty Ltd.
-
Aug 2017 - Jul 2018
The ASC Full Cycle Docking (FCD) program conducts a complete refurbishment of a boat over the course of a few years. The transition of a 10+2 lifecycle for the boats means ASC has two years to complete the FCD docking, followed by ten years of service. This activity is a very large project that involves many different professions and teams working in perfect harmony to achieve something very few other naval maintainance organisation can. As a Delivery Project Engineer, I played a critical role in the FCD program for each boat. I worked on two FCD projects in my time as a Delivery Project Engineer, with both projects allowing me to manage different teams. HMAS Collins: - Responsible for the fabrication crew, ensuring delivery of all components was met by resolving production, materials and schedule issues. - Took charge and resolved major materials issues that threatened the completion of the activity on time HMAS Waller: - Managed planning and initial production processes for the diesel crew, setting the team up for a quick and effective diesel overhaul - Developed reporting and scheduling tools to allow effective communication between Production and Project teams - Developed and completed large Capital Aquisition applications to allow for the major re-development of Diesel Engine Test Facility Show less

The University of South Australia (UniSA) currently ranked in the World’s Top 50 Under 50; it conducts some of the world’s most ground-breaking research, especially in the area of Engineering and Technology. During my time at UniSA, I worked alongside Defence Science and Technology Office (DSTO) and the Royal Australian Air-Force (RAAF) to develop an innovative Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Launch Mechanism. The project utilised off-the-shelf components to create an automated, reliable and effective system that allows the RAAF to utilise more UAV’s in their activities. I managed a team of six engineers, both undergraduates and postgraduates, to design, build, test and deliver a novel UAV launch System that is currently being used by the RAAF. My role required the development and maintainance of a detailed schedule and budget. I also ensured the customer was appropriately engaged to allow the final product to be of the highest quality. I was involved with a couple of small projects including commissioning of new equipment as well as developmental stages of various projects.
