Ian Sims
David was one of my team on a challenging multi-million pound computer project and it was a pleasure to work with him. David is genuinely interested in people, hardworking, focused, and creative. He stands in my mind as a gentleman.
Jonathan Layfield
David's approach to a new challenge is characterised by thorough preparation, understated expectation, then creative yet methodical work that results in exceeding the standard required. He demonstrates a rare combination of open-mindedness, unbounded by the conventional way of doing things, but with a structure that keeps every task on plan. Whether the project be the analysis of volumes of complex data or the selection of specialised professional people, David's focus remains one of customer satisfaction, delivering what is required, when it's required, to at least the quality standard agreed. His work can be recommended without reservation.

Primarily responsible for working on my own casework of overseas job applicants (usually around 30 concurrent applications). This involves collaboration with Recruitment and other P&OD Colleagues to optimise service delivery to both the Applicants and the Hiring Managers in the various Schools and Faculties across the University. The core element of the role is to ascertain the current Visa/Immigration Status of applicants and to then work with them and ultimately generate a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) from the University so that they can then apply for their visa. On a daily basis, I will consolidate information I have gathered from various sources and use the Home Office Sponsorship Management System (SMS) to apply for and subsequently assign a CoS to applicants. I have recently been successful in becoming a Mentor for the Manchester GOLD initiative at The University. This will enable me to share my passion and work experience to assist in the skills and knowledge development of others.
