Managing and improving social media platforms; including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram. Contributing to the charities ultimate goal of ending acute malnutrition and hunger through fundraising events with corporate stakeholders, and engaging parliamentarians through lobbying and advocacy. Some key responsibilities included: • Redesigning existing digital multimedia strategies and redeveloping the organisations webpage following a rebrand. This included rewriting country blog pages on the new website, updating humanitarian mission reports and press releases, and creating corporate page directories with easier access to fundraising pages. This required excellent organisational and written skills as I’d be working multiple tasks at any one time, and communicating with multiple bases across the world within short timeframes. • Organising social media logistics for all major events including; live social media tweet walls, creating engagement packages, increasing brand loyalty and traffic, helping raise six figure donations during the course of one event. • Managing all social media platforms and redeveloping outdated digital strategies. I designed a digital plan which involved collaborating with all UK departments, and international bases in conflict zones. Social media engagement extended from life-saving programme work, live-coverage of fundraisers and events which raised six-figure sums and, the advancement of campaigns and government lobbying. The success of the improved strategy resulted in a 600% website traffic increase from social media alone, which translated to an increase in long-term donors, brand awareness and corporate supporters. • Co-producing information bundles for newly elected parliamentarians with interests in the development and international aid policy sector. Responsibilities included composing the visual, informative and interactive components to the project at cost effective targets. This created new stakeholder partnerships. Show less

    • Vice-President & Co-founder of the Politics Society at Bournemouth University
      • Sep 2012 - Jun 2014

It was alarming that the university didn’t have a politics society. It bothers me when young humans say they’re not interested in politics. With an awesome team of politics students we formed the universities first politics society to engage political conversation in young adults. What did we do to achieve this and leave a legacy:• Organising events with awesome speakers from diverse backgrounds to encourage a wider conversation about what politics actually is amongst students, staff and Bournemouth constituents.• Participating in and organising debates and live political comedy shows aired across local news Medias. It makes me cringe but YouTube: Who Cares? Bournemouth University.• Forming relations with relevant stakeholder, and securing external funding from EU parliamentarians for university trips to the European Parliament in Brussels. Show less

My A-level English literature teacher told me I’d never be a professional writer. So naturally when I started university I nabbed myself a politics column in the university paper. I aimed to inspire political discussion amongst the younger voter demographic. Take that Ms El-darsh.
