I was an auditor assisting with the administration of a nationally recognized certification program, AISC-Metal Buildings Quality Certification Program. Approximately, 100 firms (including Butler Buildings and Varco Pruden) were audited (review of records, interviewing personal and observing fabrication practices). Audits included the review of; design projects (drawings and calculation review), welding documentation (standards, procedures & welder qualifications), quality assurance policies and procedures, on-site manufacturing reviews (welding inspection, manufacturing tolerances, painting standards, handling & loading, and raw material thickness & storage). During this time I was a Certified Welding Inspector (American Welding Society).
