As Melinda’s supervisor in the World Bank’s Global Parliamentarians Unit, I have found her to be one of the most knowledgeable, resourceful, hard working, productive, proactive and dedicated colleagues I have worked with. The bulk of our work involved mobilizing, engaging and supporting a key stakeholder group such as parliamentarians. Melinda is outstanding and had excellent skills in rallying stakeholders to partner on common causes and jointly deliver global events. She is a strong lead on strategic communications including issues briefs, speeches, talking points, and correspondence for the Bank’s senior leadership advocacy with Members of Parliaments in all global regions. Melinda has a keen eye for strategic and political implications, including potential risks and opportunities. Her writing is first-rate and she consistently delivers very high-quality work under tight timeframes. She has also proactively contributed to the team with creative solutions that have boosted our online visibility and extended the global reach of our work. She is a fast learner and very quick with technology. She is multi-talented versatile and a great team player. Above all, she is a nice and fun person to work with.

During Melinda’s time in the external affairs team serving the Human Development Vice Presidency at the World Bank, I was always impressed by her strategic communications skills, creativity, resourcefulness and drive for results. She prepared talking points and briefs for senior management, handled media inquiries, prepared feature stories and produced several short films. Her contribution to health emergency communications was recognized with a corporate team award in June 2021. Melinda was also the editor of one of the World Bank’s top-performing blogs and a Twitter account with over 60,000 followers. Testament to her strategic management, the output of blogs doubled while social media engagements tripled during Melinda’s year-long assignment. Melinda applies high-quality standards and diligence to everything she does and her stellar performance throughout our joint work was impressive. Despite incredible time pressures, Melinda was always on top of her tasks and delivered top-notch products. She would be an excellent fit for any position in the public policy/advocacy space and I wish her all the best for her career and future professional endeavors.
