Bio
Victoria Pilato
I’ve known Alexandra for several years as a co-worker on several projects and on committees and at conferences we both participated in. I was a Graduate Assistant at LIU Post in the same department she worked in, then as a collaborator for a joint digitization project between The Frick Collection, where I worked, and LIU Post, where she worked. Lastly, I was hired as a contractor to assist her department at LIU Post with their newest digital project. Alexandra is a great worker and assigned tasks with ease and clear instruction. She is always willing to help her colleagues and any student that comes in to her department. She serves on many committees and offers useful advice on different topics, such as career hunting, volunteer work, and the like. She is excellent and impressive in the many roles she has as a librarian and a good and trustworthy individual in every way possible.

Allie has been my supervisor for almost two years as a Graduate Assistant at LIU Post, which has been an invaluable experience. She’s smart, professional, funny and always prepared. I am impressed by Allie’s kind, approachable manner and the thorough way that she attends to her duties. Allie always made her expectations clear but didn’t micromanage, trusting us to get the job done. She always had an efficient strategy lined up to make our work go smoothly. All workers were frequently apprised of a projects progress, which helped to keep us on track. She prides herself on setting goals, meeting deadlines, and delivering quality content produced by our department. She often goes above and beyond to help both colleagues and students. I entered this position not knowing much about archives or collection care, but came out confident in my abilities thanks to her patient guidance. I also appreciate the time she took out of her busy schedule to help me better prepare for the job market. She is a fantastic supervisor and I highly recommend her to any future employers.
