Joe Parker is hands down the best security professional I have ever worked with. His knowledge of security concepts shined in his first few days as he established our security culture at ByteChek. Joe understands the context of threats and where to put resources in an environment where there is not a huge budget. He led efforts to help with phishing attacks via email and cell phone, he ran incident response from start to finish with some of the best documentation I have ever seen, he helped engineering to understand the security impact of key decisions and educated the team on security best practices regularly. Joe led up the scheduling, running and responding to penetration tests and helped us prepare for a SOC 2 Type 2 audit. A true security swiss army knife, Joe is comfortable in every situation you can put him in because of his experience but more importantly because of who he is. Joe is caring, empathetic, kind but also driven and dedicated to his craft. Joe was never afraid to help out in areas outside of security including becoming an expert on the ByteChek platform and helping to demo for potential customers. Joe advised me on key security intiatives and I never felt like I didn't know what was going on in security. Joe is steady in all situations, a calming force in the midst of chaos. I am confident Joe will be a CISO one day and be the best CISO in the industry. I am fortunate and honored to have had the opportunity to work with Joe and am confident any organization he joins immediately becomes a better org.

I had the privilege of having Joe Parker as my direct manager when I was an intern and full-time engineer. Not only did working under his team progress my security career in ways I couldn’t imagine but it also gave me a high standard I look for in leaders from now on. Joe brought his best self to every 1:1 and team meeting, encouraging discussion and creating a safe collaborative space. He knows how to bring the best out of his ICs and nurtures them in the otherwise hectic tech space that is security. If you need help both personally and professionally, Joe is already there. He is truly a compassionate, diligent, and technical leader.
