Arthur Ashe Youth Tennis and Education creates opportunities for a diverse cross-section of young people, especially those from low-income families and communities, to make positive choices in their lives, remain in and succeed in school, reject violence and other risky behaviors, and grow into active, responsible and productive citizens. As the Director of Development for their Fundraising, I loved knowing I was helping kids experience programs that they would otherwise not have afforded. These camps and exercise programs gave them discipline and ultimately shaped their lives for the better. The American Lung Association is the leading organization working to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease through Education, Advocacy and Research. One of my favorite aspects of my time with The American Lung Association was fundraising for the asthma camp. I loved knowing I was helping children learn to cope with their asthma while they were having a fun time. I also developed and executed special events to create awareness for the ALA's mission including lung health for Southeast Pennsylvania residents.If you'd like to hear more about my time fundraising, please contact me.
