I have worked alongside Gavin since he joined the Test Management team in 2007. Gavin is a great person to have as part of a team but also works very well independently. He has show a very creative approach to the management of the Test Environment, championing and delivering leading edge technologies which have made a significant positive impact on the efficiency and cost effectiveness of the environments. Gavin also has extensive experience managing an outsourced service partner, delivering both an environment management service as well as a testing service delivered though a combination of onshore and offshore resources.

After construction of a bespoke Test Facility, implementation of a staging environment to represent each Train Operating Company (TOC) platform and ticket office environment commenced. Working with Testing, Procurement and Legal teams as well as ticketing equipment vendors, I created a test environment representing central scheme members (c2c, Abellio Greater Anglia and London & South Eastern Railway), through the integration of ticket gates, validators and Ticket Vending Machines connected to cloud hosted Back Offices. Inter-operable scheme members (TfL, GTR and Southern Railway) were represented with similar equipment connected to their own test Back Office. I performed all Facility Management, Network Management and Operational Management ensuring clients worked in a safe and efficient facility with a highly available test environment. Various tools to aid integration and fault analysis were implemented.

Working alongside Testing, Procurement and Legal teams, I lead the creation of a Test Facility to be used for the Department for Transport's South East Flexible Ticketing (SEFT) ITSO Smartcard Programme. The facility was built in unoccupied basement space in central London from scratch. I defined and lead the facility dimensioning, space planning, power, cooling and network design, the physical facility build and implementation of all infrastructure.
