For the past three years, I have mentored Jack Brady as he has worked at the SJSU Writing Center. In this time, Jack has helped in the pilot program for our new online tutoring program, illustrated some of our images for our social media platform, redesigned our popular blog "The Write Attitude," contributed a plethora of blog posts and edited / formatted even more in his role as Assistant Editor, and, of course, served as a tutor -- often earning some of our center's highest rankings. Jack is, quite frankly, one of the best student employees I've ever had the pleasure of supervising. He is an excellent communicator -- he has even interviewed local celebrities like a San Francisco 49er and reading series hosts with great aplomb -- and would be a great fit for any technical writing position with his keen eye for detail. In short, any company who hires Jack Brady will be lucky to have such a dedicated professional working for their team! We will miss him greatly at the SJSU Writing Center but we look forward to seeing all the wonderful work he will be doing in the future!

I have been Jack's direct supervisor at the SJSU Writing Center for over three years. Jack has always been a pleasure to work with, and he is an exceptional employee. He is an expert in written communication. Jack has worked with hundreds of students in his position as writing tutor, and he consistently receives positive feedback; he has also conducted numerous workshops in which he taught writing concepts to larger groups of students. Daily, Jack demonstrates his ability to explain complex concepts to others--an invaluable skill in numerous career fields. Jack is a responsible, dedicated employee who consistently demonstrates the desire to learn new things and explore new possibilities. Jack was part of our planning committee when we hosted the Northern California Writing Centers Association (NCWCA) Conference at our institution. He opted into additional training so he could specialize in working with graduate-level writers and tutoring students in an online environment. He also took on the position of associate editor of our blog, and he completely revamped all our graphics to make the blog more streamlined and visually appealing. As his supervisor, I am always confident that if I ask Jack to do something, it will be completed on time, and more importantly, the work will be of excellent quality. Jack is respectful of all his co-workers and supervisors, and everyone on our team thoroughly enjoys working with him. It has been a privilege to work with Jack and see his development throughout his college career--I cannot recommend him highly enough. Any company would be fortunate to have him.
