Manage national programs and community engagement around issue with climate change, energy efficiency, and the greening of buildings and grounds. • Engage over 18,000 faith groups in programs that educate and lead people to take action in their own homes and congregations to reduce their carbon footprint. Managed program to protect national park resources in Hawaii and Northern California in the Pacific regional office. • Partnered with gateway communities, local leaders, and park advocates to support organizational goals and campaigns. • Maintained positive relationships with National Park Superintendents, Hawaiian and Californian Congressional delegations and gateway communities to further key national park protection goals. • Created action alerts to notify members of critical development threats to National Parks. • Designed, composed copy for and edited newsletter for 3,000+ high end donors. • Conduced media tours and interviews resulting in positive print, blog and TV news reports. • Planned and executed 5-10 regional advisory council meetings and major donor events per year and the National Parks Family Day in partnership with the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the National Park Service that was attended by over 2000 Central Valley families. • Worked with 15 regional council members to guide their activities in donor engagement and advocacy • Developed a new program to combat park protection issues of the eight Hawaiian national parks: advocated for increased congressional funding, collaborated with diverse park partners, created community awareness and provided opportunities for new activists. • Responsible for the financial management of regional budget along with organizing national reporting of budget and program activities of the five offices in the Pacific Region • Analyzed threats and developed strategic plans to address threats for 17 national park units in the Pacific Region. • Reviewed and commented on NEPA and section 106 documents for new development projects adjacent to and in national parks. • Lead advocacy campaign to protect the cultural and natural resources of Haleakalā National Park • Worked with park partners and friends groups to increase funding streams for park improvements and to connect communities to park events and operations.
