Lauren's commitment to strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem in DC and beyond in an equitable and inclusive way is inspiring. I had the pleasure of working with Lauren for three years at LearnServe International, where she built creative curriculum and pedagogy to bring social entrepreneurship into the classroom for hundreds of DC-area youth. Above all, I was impressed by Lauren's determination to empower youth voices in a genuine, intentional way throughout her process. Lauren would be a true asset for any positions requiring an interdisciplinary approach to social impact and comes with my heartfelt recommendation!

Lauren and I have worked on 2 competitions together: The Small Business School Challenge and the Venture Capital Investment Competition. Lauren is a leader. She pairs a strategic mindset with a practical understanding of how to accomplish something in an ambiguous environment. Lauren is a uniquely gifted relationship manager, both internally for the teams she leads and externally with clients, by communicating persuasively and by managing people based on their individual strengths. Further, Lauren has an eye for process improvements - as a leader, she will map out a path to accomplish something, and course correct iteratively as needed to maximize productivity. It has been a pleasure to work with - and learn from - Lauren.

At REDF, we’re building an economy that works. For everyone. We discover and back social entrepreneurs across the United States that employ people striving to overcome employment barriers like homelessness or incarceration. These mission-driven businesses, called employment social enterprises, exist because they see untapped talent in their communities not by the barriers they’ve faced, but for the strengths they hold.
