Marilyn Monroy
James is an excellent professor at College of Marin. I studied graphic design at a different school but because of James I found my passion in web design. James is very resourceful and knowledgeable in the courses I took with him including web design, web development, multimedia production, social media, and wordpress. James also took initiative once the COVID pandemic started at easily transitioned us to online learning. James is a patient and natural teacher, and I am very lucky to have had him as my professor.

I was very fortunate to cross paths with James many years ago when I was contemplating a career change. My first class at College of Marin was with him, and immediately my eyes were opened to a broad world of possibilities. He demanded much, and our whole class jumped in enthusiastically. James is a great example of the idea that the teacher, more than the subject, is what inspires students. He's organized, deeply knowledgeable, but above all really excited to teach you what he knows, and motivate you to do it well. He inspired me to pursue a new career, one I've been at now for nearly 20 years — thanks, James!
