I had the privilege of traveling to Haiti with Jonathan to spend time partnering with the efforts of Haiti Partners. Jonathan not only served as a capable tour guide, interpreter, and expert on local culture, but clearly and compellingly communicated the work of their organization. His work ethic and effective implementation of structures and programs was evident, as well as his interpersonal communication skills across cultures and media. For these reasons and more, I invited him to give a presentation at our college student group to share about the work of Haiti Partners. Yet again, he was able to communicate the vision of their organization with creativity in a way that challenged college students to see the world with a more global perspective, while inviting them to take very practical "next steps" toward making a difference in a broken world. Jonathan balances his professionalism and efficient work ethic with a humble, personable attitude that makes him an indispensable team member to any project.

    • Chief Development Officer
      • Mar 2017 - May 2019

As Chief Development Officer, I led our team in building and sustaining the broader community of financial partners. Our funding is completely private, with over 70% coming from individual donors. Over 1200 individuals, churches, companies, and foundations invest in our work. Since 2016, we've grown our annual operating revenue from $1.9 million to $2.5 million.-I serve as a major gift officer to steward and advance a major donor caseload with 100 key partners that generates 60% of our annual revenue ($1.8 million). I ensure that these partners are connected with the work, inspired by our students, invited to invest, and thanked for their partnership.-I set and implement our overall fundraising strategy, and lead our team in building the systems & structures that ensure good stewardship, great donor experiences, and a staff culture of inspiration & gratitude for every single partner. Particularly, we're executing a complete overhaul of our strategy and systems as we move from a model where every staff member fundraises, to a centralized development model.

Worked with a small consulting team to develop a medium-term strategic plan for the Qatar Development Fund, a bilateral development agency established in 2010. This plan outlined guiding principles, policies, and procedures to guide the Fund from 2011-2013; we also developed a medium-term financial sustainability plan.
