Flipkart is India's largest eCommerce company with over 100,000 sellers, 100 million registered users and over 30,000 employees. I worked in Marketing for 1 year and Social Media for 1.5 years. In marketing I was assigned to handle retailers in several towns near Bengaluru for product categories such as apparel, handicrafts and kitchenware. 1. Planning and executing marketing events such as Big Billion Day, Big App Shopping Day, Shopping ka Naya Address etc. by contacting sellers to procure products and convincing new sellers to showcase their products on Flipkart.2. Organizing conferences for new sellers by meeting and inviting them, assisting during the event, and submitting a conference report to management.3. Arranging local promotional activities and advertising in rural and semi-rural areas to ensure customers of different demographies and localities are made aware of their ability to purchase items online and have them delivered. 4. Checks of seller facilities to ensure authenticity and quality of products sold by the sellers. Co-ordinating with the web-design team to create visuals and descriptions of the products on Flipkart.In Social Media I was part of a large group (40 - 50 staff) dealing with customer-facing activities for the whole country: 1. Worked along with the marketing team on product launches, and social media contests on Facebook and Twitter.2. Monitoring Social Media and online reviews daily, analyzing customer sentiments and reporting on positive and negative sentiments.3. Networking with logistics team and sellers to achieve error-free customer service. Taking care of post-sales related queries by responding to customer comments in Social Media platforms and following up for resolution until the issues were resolved.4. Built template responses for other customer support employees to reply on social media platform quickly and efficiently. The company goal was to provide an initial response within a few minutes.
