Employer Engagement

Mar 2023 - Present
I am very happy to be 'going back to my roots' in my new Employer Engagement role at the EM3 Careers Hub. I look forward to working with employers in the region on projects and initiatives which will support young people in Surrey and Hampshire to make informed decisions about their future career choices. Development Manager & Head of Careers
-
Sep 2014 - Jul 2019
In this role I was responsible for planning and implementing the whole school careers programme. Ofsted graded TWBS Sixth Form as Outstanding and the report stated, 'students are prepared extremely well for their next steps, both with their applications to university and for entering into modern apprenticeships. Careers information and guidance are significant strengths.' Establishing links with both local and national businesses was a key part of my role and through these links pupils were given opportunities to develop their Early Career pathways. Businesses who supported the careers programme included Barclays, Jaguar Land Rover, Jacobs, Fuller's, Romans, as well as local businesses. Developing links with Alumni was key to the successful careers programme at TWBS and this continues to grow through their expanding Alumni network. Show less

Business and Enterprise Lecturer

Sep 2010 - Jul 2014
At Brooklands College I delivered various Enterprise programmes to students and taught an Exploring Enterprise course to young people on the Prince's Trust Team Programme. The experiences gained in this role prompted me to pursue a career in teaching, so I studied for my Certificate in Education and graduated from the University of Greenwich in October 2013. In my teaching role I incorporated enterprise skills and 'real life' business experience into all my courses and this was recognised by Ofsted in December 2013 and resulted in them grading these lessons as Outstanding.
