LAPR, or, Laboratory/Project is a series of 5 total courses, where in the final 4 weeks in each semester (before exams), the class is put in a real work environment in team software development. I have, currently, completed 4 out of 5 courses of those courses, where I worked with a team in my class to develop an app, using knowledge from the rest of the courses taken in that semester: • Laboratory/Project I (LAPR1): Developed an app that analyses the structure of connections of users in a social network (i.e. Facebook), using adjacency matrixes and linear algebra, to calculate the centrality of connections between the various users in the network; • Laboratory/Project II (LAPR2): Developed a software solution to support the organization of an exhibition fair centres and tradeshows/exhibitions management process. The app would record various tradeshows events, their organizers and applying companies while automating the creation of each tradeshow organizing committee, stand application submissions, reviewing process and decision (accept/reject); • Laboratory/Project III (LAPR3): Using computational phyics, developed an app to study energy consumption in road transportation, simulating and calculating a road network and vehicle (including hydrid and electrical) travel consumption, taking in account basic mechanics of the vehicles and fluid laws, like the effect of air drag; • Laboratory/Project IV (LAPR4): Built a web version of CleanSheets (open-source desktop worksheet app), with the addition of new functionalities, such as cloud saving, web chat between users, exporting the worksheets in various file types. The solution was based on GWT, using Java as the base language. Every version of this course was done in an intensive format and used Scrum agile software development in groups of 4-8 students, in 3-4 iterations, with continuous integration in a single git BitBucket repository using Java in object-oriented fashion, with various tools/practices.
