As a result of a project at the University of St.Gallen focusing on digital transformation, I co-founded the Think Tank "Concious Monkey". The project dealt with social acceleration and alienation due to the ongoing digital transformation and suddenly it earned great attention among students, professors and also the public society (e.g. article in Tagblatt etc.). We received a request to organize a workshop for a large Swiss ICT company on the topic "Always-on". The goal was to discuss realistic approaches and strategies towards digital detox. The main focus was on the smartphone. During that time, I met Peter by coincidence at the Institute of Technology Management and told him about our project. After some minutes of intensive exchange of ideas, I was impressed by his clear visions, in-depth knowledge and cutting-edge thoughts around consequences and implications of the digital transformation. What Peter Vogel has to say is far away from the standard blabla you get when talking about the matter. Of course, without hestitating, I asked him to be a speaker at our workshop! It turned out to be the right decision: Peter Vogel was a great match and a substantial enrichment for the concept and participants of our workshop. Not only did he present perfectly well-grounded research of high relevance but also did his presentation material and skills leave a lasting impression on our client.
