I met Ellen in April 2016, after she sent me an email regarding her interest in Gifted Creative Group. Her initiative and professionalism - combined with her obvious artistic talent and desire to learn - resulted in me offering her an internship during our first meeting. Ellen studied Illustration, and I was blown away by her application of that in her Printmaking work, which is so unique and effortless. It's also great when an illustrator has an eye for design and hand-lettering, which I encourage and appreciate. Ellen was the recipient of multiple artistic scholarships at SCAD, was on the Dean's List throughout college, has extracurricular leadership involvement, and has had her work exhibited in multiple exhibitions at SCAD, in the community...and even in Cairo! Just to top it all off, she also a great and fun attitude. Ellen and I worked together through her internship/mentorship for nearly a year, and in that time, she refined her personal branding, resume and portfolio. Her style developed into two distinct avenues - digital illustration and printmaking - which have proven to be equally loved by her clients. I've been very pleased by her dedication to her work and the grace and accuracy with which she received and incorporated feedback, as well as her adaptability and timeliness. Not only did she intern with Gifted, but she managed 3 internships simultaneously, as well as her own workload. One very notable project she took on was through her internship with Deep Center, which promotes writing and arts to youth in Savannah. Through this, she created beautiful illustrations for a series of 4 book covers and interior spot illustrations, and her client and the children love them! Because of Ellen's hard work and dedication in learning about the industry and her professional growth, she was promoted from Intern to Illustrator with our group in less than a year. I'm proud to have Ellen in the group and I highly recommend her.
