Keji is an incredibly thoughtful and solutions focused facilitator. She has played such a valuable role in helping us to navigate new ways of working, testing and learning as we go, which is no mean feat. She absolutely has the best interests and needs of the young people we work with at heart whilst also understanding our challenges as an organisation. With the support of Keji and Hudl, we have a relationship with our young consultants that is built on trust and where we can collectively work through challenges as well as celebrate the progress made. I really value working with her!

Dedicated and passionate about helping young people achieve their potential is the phrase that comes to mind when I think about Keji. I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Keji for nearly two years now - we started training to facilitate Action Learning Sets together and continued working together since. As well as her strong sense of promoting social justice in all the work she does, her clarity of communication combined with deep compassion makes her stand out. She is also incredibly creative, having a published children’s book to her name, written for her son and his friend. Keji is a truly supportive colleague and a joy to work with.

As part of EF’s desire to do better at listening to and involving young people more directly with their work, they are working with the Involving Young People Collective to help them design and test ways in which they can do this. So far the young people have developed standards, organised roundtables with other funders working with young people, ran innovation hackathons (rooted in human centred-design) and sprints on topics like “EF’s investment strategy “ and “Diversity, equity and inclusion in the environmental sector”. They’ve also worked on assessing grants and inputting into other pieces of work that EF is undertaking. For this piece, I brought my expertise in co-design and innovation to bring fresh perspectives to the young people and the organisation as a whole. You can see a report from the Diversity in the environmental sector Hackathon that I led below. Empowering young people and shifting the power to them is at the core of this whole initiative.
