During my internship with Teach First I successfully planned and delivered a chemistry lesson (Corrosion of Metals) to a Year 7 class. I learnt and demonstrated the 3 Gatekeeper Skills of teaching: Classroom Management, Planning & Assessment. Throughout the 2 weeks, I observed varying methods and techniques used by teachers of different science subjects across year groups. My role involved contacting the alumni of the University from across the years. I successfully created and maintained rapports to rebuild connections between the University and its alumni whilst encouraging them to donate back to the University via one off donations or monthly direct debit payments. I demonstrated the ability to engage with individuals of all ages and backgrounds through stimulating conversations and appropriately logged the outcomes of each conversation on the online system. I was responsible for processing donations over the phone and sending out relevant emails and postcards where required. Acting on individual feedback meant my targets were consistently met.
