I first started at Tennessee Valley Realty Associates to fill a part-time administrative role. However, I quickly fulfilled a much broader scope of assistance needed in the property management division of the company, which led to a permanent full-time position dealing with leasing, communication with clients, tenant relations, maintenance coordination, data entry and other clerical functions. I then went on to obtain my real estate license so I could better serve clients as a fully credentialed property manager and support the company's growth alongside the director of property management. Altogether, we served over a hundred clients and managed over two hundred units in the greater Knoxville area. In addition to acting as property manager, I represented buyers, sellers, and investors alike in the purchase and sale of real estate throughout the various communities of Knoxville and neighboring areas.

    • High Needs ESE Associate
      • Oct 2015 - Feb 2016

I worked one on one with a high needs student who had limited verbal abilities and who exhibited self-injurious behavior due to front lobal damage. I ensured his and others' safety as well as acted as a channel of communication in various ways, including understanding and interpreting his visual and oral cues and managing his communicative device. Other duties ranged from implementing curricula and assisting with other high needs students in the class when the student I was assigned to was absent, to general organizational and planning duties in the classroom. I left this position when the student I was assigned to was withdrawn from the school in order to be transferred to a more appropriate facility due to his medical needs.

      • Aug 2014 - Dec 2014

As a customer loyalty specialist at Tampa Bay Times, I performed a plethora of functions relating to customer service. I largely answered phone calls from customers and prioritized delivery service and distribution issues. However, I also acted as an intradepartmental liaison for correspondence between supervisors, co-workers, and clients. Some of my other duties included processing requests for services to be held, providing information and technical support to e-newspaper subscribers via e-mail correspondence, sales and payment processing, and, of course, maintaining a positive, pleasant demeanor.

I led a team of seven writers, time-managed deadlines, digitally designed the newspaper, carried out the production, post-production, and distribution of the paper, while also writing several articles per issue and providing photographic media. Additionally, I trained my assistant editor who shadowed me for a portion of my editorial role, preceding my graduation. This experience tested my leadership abilities, my organizational and time management skills, my patience and ability to perform well under stress. It instilled in me confidence and a large capacity for understanding, which in turn made me a better team player.

    • Foodrunner
      • Jun 2009 - Oct 2011

At my first job, like many in life I started out as a hostess, and was soon promoted to a food runner because of my hard working, team player abilities. In this position, a pleasant demeanor was key, as well as the ability to multi-task and manage time efficiently. I was eventually laid off due to the seasonal nature of the business, and moved to Tampa to continue my education.
