In my work with Steve, specifically during the creation and adoption of the McGaw Park Master Plan, I found him to be very knowledgeable of the critical elements of the public process. Steve's communication skills, in presenting his recommendation to the alders of the Common Council, were respectful in including resident concerns and feedback. The end result is that Steve played a big role in achieving the approval of the McGaw Park Master Plan which will provide a valued park planning tool for years to come.

Steve has been very supportive and encouraging to me as a young professional. I admire his enthusiasm and knowledge of a broad range of disciplines, from information technology to sustainable urbanism and environmental protection. Steve is very passionate about the issues he cares about and is a highly dedicated public servant. Fitchburg is fortunate to have him as a leader in the community and will benefit greatly from his positive contributions in making the city a high quality place to live, play, and work.

I was one of three representatives of the Dane County Cities and Villages Association. I filled a seat that was vacant due to a resignation. On May 11, 2016, I was elected to a full three-year term, which ends in the spring of 2019. I was removed by a vote of the Dane County Cities and Villages Association on May 3, 2016, because I am no longer an elected official. The Commission is to serve as the regional planning and area-wide water quality management planning entity for the Dane County region. The Commission is charged with the duty of preparing and adopting a master plan for the physical development of the region, and maintaining a continuing area-wide water quality management planning process in order to manage, protect, and enhance the water resources of the region, including consideration of the relationship of water quality to land and water resources and uses.

I worked as mayor to advance my vision for a community that will flourish in the 21st century. Fitchburg’s city government has a key role to play in empowering and protecting every resident. I recognize Fitchburg’s ideal location, rich agricultural and water assets, and diverse population are the foundation for a world-class quality of life, available to people of all backgrounds and income levels.Metro Transit Contracted Services Oversight Subcommittee since 2011Member of the Common Council 2005-2017Board of Public Works Chair 2015-2017Plan Commission Chair 2015-2017ad hoc Fire Station Oversight Committee Chair 2015-2017
