Rachel is a talented marketing professional. During her time at Baldwin Hackett & Meeks, Inc. (BHMI), I had the pleasure of working with her on a number of projects. This included a social media marketing campaign, the creation of new visual systems for three corporate web sites, and a new corporate identity approach. Rachel not only has the mind of a marketing strategist, she has the creative, graphical, and technical know-how to take a marketing vision and turn it into reality.
Jim Merchant
Rachel provided branding, graphics, and web analysis expertise to the BHMI team. She completed projects with two separate teams within BHMI with very different deliverables; marketing and software development. Her ability to navigate the differing needs of these groups to provide meaningful and substantive deliverables is notable. Rachel’s eager and willing attitude in combination with her excellent communication skills allowed her to step in and make immediate contributions thathad a lasting impact. If you have Rachel join your team, you won’t be disappointed.

Rachel began with AED in Ghana by developing the creative print materials and community theater script for a water purification program, which encouraged people to use water purification tablets to clean their water and avoid diseases. She did an excellent job working from a creative brief and target audience research. She managed all aspects of development from the photo shoot to design to overseeing the printers to practicing with actors for the community theater. Rachel worked well on a team and was quick to adapt her work based on input from colleagues and other stakeholders. Based on our experience with Rachel in the water purification work, we were excited to have her develop the branding and creative materials for a community based distribution program in the peri-urban and rural areas of Ghana. This program was designed to get health products (condoms, oral contraceptives, soap/toothpaste, water purification tablets etc.) to those who needed them at an affordable and sometimes subsidized price through a local sales force. The branding was truly innovative and played off of local slang. Rachel began to step further out of her design hat and also contributed to training the sales team and ensuring effective distribution of products in the field. At the request of USAID, GSCP led the implementation of an interactive health fair that showcased the work of 10-15 of USAID’s partner NGO organizations. GSCP was asked to lead on the creative development for the event and to coordinate all NGO partners. Rachel led the creative development, production and also served as the key coordinator for implementing the health fair. She exhibited strong project management and leadership skills as she worked with each of the multiple partners to ensure their booth was innovative, interactive and fit in with the larger health fair theme. The event was highly lauded by USAID and was considered as an event to replicate for an upcoming trip by US President Obama. Rachel excels in the areas of creativity, project management, and self-motivation.
