In this position I was responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating wellbeing programs for young people that emphasized and encouraged active and healthy lifestyles. I was required to research best practice models for both community development and health promotion and to develop a strong understanding of the target groups and relevant issues. I was a key player in the team which developed and delivered the ‘Girls on the Go!’ training package, now being delivered successfully to welfare staff across Victoria. I worked directly with the young people to establish relationships, empower them and helped them develop pathways to other services or agencies where relevant. My role also required collaboration and liaison with external agencies, including Wesley Mission and Dandenong and Districts Aboriginal Cooperative. Show less
