Rebekah and I worked at the Earth Hour Global HQ in Sydney from 2009-2011. Rebekah worked in the brand and marketing division and was the lead for the children's education initiative for Earth Hour. Schools were an important target vertical for Earth Hour and Rebekah led that initiative by running targetted campaigns like the 'Lanterns project' and also worked with the digital team to create digital toolkits for the website. She genuinely loves the environment and her passion for sustainability showed in everything she did at work. Rebekah also automatically assumed the role of the 'go-to-person' in the team for tasks that required organization and quick thinking. She helped immensely with logistics for the weekend of Earth Hour which made life very easy for the team. She was a great team player and a good friend to everyone. I would gladly work with Rebekah again and would recommend her wholeheartedly.

Rebekah is a joy to work with: dedicated, talented and brilliant. During our time together at Earth Hour, where I was the global Social Media Manager, Becky and I worked closely on a number of projects with her assistance running many of our digital and social media initiatives invaluable. I could not recommend her enough!

Human Trafficking Search (HTS) is a global resource and research database on human trafficking. Launched in 2006, HTS manages thousands of resources from around the world, covering topics that include forced and bonded labor, sex trafficking, child trafficking, forced marriage, and much more. The resources found on HTS provide knowledge and information to service providers, advocates, law enforcement professionals, students, researchers, and anyone who wants to learn more about modern slavery. My role as Program Director involves updating and curating our database which contains information in multiple languages, from over 120 countries. I also manage the publication of our bi-weekly blog and original research on modern slavery, which both provide timely analysis on current events and trends in the sector. I am also responsible for the content of our social media spaces and sectoral relationship building and advocacy work.

Dui Hua (对话, meaning “dialogue” in Chinese) is a nonprofit humanitarian organization that seeks clemency and better treatment for at-risk detainees through the promotion of universally recognized human rights in a well-informed, mutually respectful dialogue with China. Focusing on political and religious prisoners, juvenile justice, women in prison, and issues in criminal justice, their work rests on the premise that positive change is realized through constructive relationships and exchange. My role as a Fellow at The Dui Hua Foundation included communications and marketing support for The International Symposium on Girls in Conflict with the Law and a webinar conducted with the Supreme People's Court of China (SPC). The Symposium was an innovative exchange that brought together experts from various sectors and focus areas to promote girls’ justice. As a Fellow I supported the Symposium by improving communication and messaging before, during, and after relevant events. I conducted research on select topics, moderated webinars, reviewed and summarized webinars, enhanced engagement on the user website, created and implemented wider messaging strategies, and created deliverables as needed. Since the Symposium end, I drafted and led post-event monitoring and evaluation and upheld the communication strategy, including managing content for the dedicated Symposium website. The Expert Exchange on Child Welfare Laws in China and the United States was focused on child welfare laws and believed to be the first exchange on this topic in the two countries. The exchange featured two panels of legal experts, four each from the US and China, presenting on child welfare conditions in their respective jurisdictions. I managed the relationship with the SPC representative, communications with panelists and the setup of technical support including simultaneous translation and recording.

All Faiths Food Bank is the only food bank and largest hunger relief organization in Sarasota and DeSoto counties. AFFB provides millions of meals each year through robust programs and partnerships with hundreds of charitable organizations throughout the community. In addition to food distribution, All Faiths operates a roster of innovative direct service programs that not only solve the immediate problem of hunger but also strive to end hunger by helping families and individuals to gain long-term food security, enjoy better health outcomes, and achieve self-sufficiency. As the Manager of Family Food Programs I planned and oversaw the school Back Pack, School Pantry and Family Pantry programs. I was responsible for the strategy, story-capturing, project management, marketing, monitoring and implementation of these programs in line with overall organizational goal of ending hunger in our community. The BackPack program provides nutritious food to children over the weekend and during school holidays. Participating children are sent home with a bag of healthy, kid-friendly food on Fridays and prior to holidays.School Pantries invite parents of students from the participating school to select food items from a pantry set up on school grounds. The pantry is opened on a regular basis and offers a variety of nonperishable food and whenever possible, fresh produce and meat. Family Pantries operate in child focused community programs where the clients are from low-income areas. At these pantries families are offered frozen meat, fresh produce and a variety of dry goods to take home and make the food that is right for their family.
