Bio
William Bays
I worked with Jon for four years at The Stylist Group and it would be difficult to overstate his contribution to the company. Its extremely rare to find someone who has his level of technical knowledge, such a complete understanding of digital publishing and who is also able to communicate it all to both technical and non technical people. Jon designed and oversaw the building of the entire tech stack at Stylist in his role as Technical Architect and led the digital team in his role of Head of Development. Jon's vision and forward thinking for the digital team and more importantly the company at large was the reason he inspired such trust at The Stylist Group. He was universally popular as a manager and highly respected as a strategist borne of detailed planning and budgeting projects, a data led test and learn approach and always being ahead of the game with new tech.

I hired Jonathon as my junior but he quickly became my mentor. His influence while at Shortlist Media was transformational to the organisation. Incredible clarity of thought, creative, and just plain great to work with. Over the years working with him he'd have this capability of independently flagging opportunities for dramatically improving processes with technology. They'd range from digital publishing to bizops to big data processing and analysis. The best example I can remember is his tech talk at a tech meetup of a new tool he built. After the demonstration he was told that there's another project similar to his, but had required 10x the team size and 3x project length to get to near where he had.
