Sally Schaeffer is a public policy and lobbying rock star! Combining policy expertise and government relations know-how, Sally has been a powerful advocate on a wide range of policy issues over the years. It was a pleasure having her represent my former association’s interests before Congress, where I saw firsthand her effectiveness in driving policy change and creating positive social impact on Capitol Hill. Moreover, Sally is an absolute delight to work with and a passionate champion for not only the causes she represents, but also the wonderful nonprofits she volunteers for. You’d be hard pressed to find a better representative before Congress and the Administration for your organization!

Uncorked Advocates (UA) is a federal government relations firm started with the mission to help nonprofits be heard on Capitol Hill. The firm specializes in federal legislative services around nonprofit tax and retirement, appropriations (both programmatic and earmarks), and children and women's issues, particularly gender-based violence and vulnerable populations. On behalf of American Heart Association, UA coordinated a national coalition of 60+ nonprofits in support to support more charitable giving by seniors, called the Legacy IRA Act, which passed into law in December 2022. It is expected to help raise $1 billion per year for charities. UA also helped support a nonprofit equity working group, made up of national nonprofits committed to advancing racial equity and justice. Current clients include national nonprofits, such as the American Heart Association, YWCA USA, Covenant House International, United Philanthropy Forum, Association of Fundraising Professionals, Prevent Child Abuse America, Futures Without Violence, The Army of Survivors, a new nonprofit started by 40+ survivors of Larry Nassau, the Chicago-based National Center on Domestic Violence, Trauma & Mental Health, and the national Pediatric Complex Care Association.
