I further extend the work that I had developed with my postgraduate students at Sahand University of Technology (SUT) by employing Professor Taciroglu’s extensive experience in numerical analysis. In particular, I did more investigation on the methodologies that can lead to the improvement of pioneering earthquake resistant elements with emphasis on All-steel Buckling Restrained Braces (BRBs) and retrofitting strategies of masonry structures.
