After understanding that the true essence of Chemical engineering is to streamline a process so that maximum optimization can be achieved, I wanted to delve into the corporate sector to get a firsthand experience of how chemical processes are executed. Thus, I embarked on a journey which made landed me an opportunity to intern at Asian Paints where l deliberated about the units involved in manufacturing of water-based paints and problems faced in Emulsion conveying flow rate due to the Strainer choking in pipes and therefore, examined the flow regimes of different emulsions such as R-5635, Ropaque, and R-5905. I devised recommendations in order to increase the flow rate and reduce time lost due to breakdown. Show less
