"New copolymers based on poly(dopamine) for the sustained delivery of active pharmaceutical ingredient to the eye by intravitreal administration" PhD thesis under joint supervision with Biomolecules Institute Max Mousseron (department of Polymers for Health and Biomaterials, Montpellier, France) and the international pharmaceutical company F.Hoffmann-La Roche (Basel, Switzerland). As the main tasks: - Development of novel functional copolymers - Design of injectable solid or liquid formulations for intravitreal (IVT) administration - Evaluation of the formulations' physical properties during the manufacturing and degradation processes - Evaluation of the stability of APIs (small molecules drugs and proteins) in formulations - in vitro / ex-vivo release profiles of APIs - Conduct of the in vitro cytotoxicity assays on formulations - Collaboration with postdocs and senior scientists from Basel Laboratory skills: Synthesis of monomers and polymers by ROP, ATRP, oxidation, chemical modification. Manufacturing processes of polymers. Release experiments of APIs. Biological evaluations. Analytical technics: SEC, 1H NMR, DOSY NMR, DSC, TGA, UV spectrometer, HPLC, BCA, contact angle, cell culture (viability assays). Project management: Mentored and trained students, planned and organized meetings, scientific and technical monitoring, wrote monthly reports and scientific articles. Software: Origin, Chemdraw, LabSolution, TopSpin, MestReNova, Show less
